Bikram Yoga Leicester is a female owned, dedicated, boutique Bikram Yoga studio currently offering 11, 90 minute only, dialogue led classes per week. Located in the heart of the city’s St George’s Cultural Quarter with everything on the doorstep including Leicester train station just a five minute walk away.
Our city has a long history of Bikram Yoga extending some 20 years, so the students here are experienced and committed. The current studio opened in September 2022 by certified teacher, Hannah Elwell who started practicing in 2008 and finally went to TT in Spring 2018 in Acapulco.
We have an incredible community of wonderful regulars and a plentiful stream of new students all of whom are attracted by the amazing healing benefits of Bikram Yoga and for whom BYL is an integral part of their life and something we’ve fought hard to preserve here in Leicester.
Leicester is just over an hour on the train (East Midlands Trains) to London (St Pancras International Station) and therefore to Eurostar, and has a well served local international airport, East Midlands Airport (EMA). We’re also less than an hour from Birmingham Airport (BHX) which has a greater choice of links to more international destinations including good links to the USA via Aer Lingus.
London Heathrow and Gatwick Airports can be reached within a few hours by public transport. The bus network is also very good (National Express). For European destinations we have lots of budget airlines with regular flights depending on the season serving both East Midlands and Birmingham Airports as well as regional airports around the country such as Luton (LTN), Manchester (MAN) and Stansted (STN) which are all accessible.
The city is one of the most diverse in the country. It is the current winner of the Curry Capital of the UK and famed for its Golden Mile. We have the biggest Diwali festival outside of India and myriad theatres, live music venues, sporting attractions, Tigers rugby and Leicester City FC to name a couple, an outdoor fruit and veg market, indoor fish and meat market, well known high street shops and out of town retail parks.
There are plenty of green open spaces and things to do including the King Richard III museum, the last English king to die on the battlefield whose bones were famously discovered under a car park in the city centre. We also have two excellent universities, De Montfort University and University of Leicester, so there is also a thriving student culture, great bars and restaurants. The stunning countryside around wider Leicestershire and beyond is also well worth exploring.

On offer is free accommodation in our newly built loft bunk in the studio with simple cooking facilities, shower and washing machine/dryer and £25 cash paid per class. I can also promise lots of opportunity for Dialogue discussion (we love it here!), posture clinics with the other teachers and if you’re hungry for more, support and feedback (never unsolicited that’s a promise!), plus the chance to share your knowledge with us.

None of the regular teachers teach full time so there is flexibility with the number of classes on offer. Hannah also works a day job full time so is in need of traveling teachers to help ease the teaching burden and allow time for her own practice. Subject to the duration of the stay, there is the option to add extra classes to the timetable. Please get in touch to discuss.
